Hosts a Major Energy Milestone as ANOH Gas Project Records First Gas Production.
Imo State has taken a significant step onto Nigeria’s energy map as the 300 MMscfd Assa North–Ohaji South (ANOH) Gas Project officially achieved First Gas, marking the start of commercial gas production.
This milestone follows the successful completion of the 11-kilometre Indorama gas export pipeline and receipt of full regulatory approvals. The ANOH Gas Processing Company (AGPC) has now commenced gas supply to the Indorama Petrochemical Plant In Eleme Portharcourt, River State
under firm and interruptible Gas Sales Agreements.
Since start-up, gas production from the ANOH plant has been steadily stabilizing, delivering 40–52 MMscfd of processed gas, with capacity expected to increase as operations ramp up.
Speaking on the achievement, Seplat Energy CEO Roger Brown described the project as a game-changer, noting that ANOH will:
Beyond corporate gains, the ANOH gas project positions Imo State as a strategic hub in Nigeria’s gas value chain, opening doors for industrial growth, job creation, improved energy supply, and long-term economic opportunities for the people of the state.
