Tinubu appointed Bianca Ojukwu and six others as the Minister of State Foreign Affairs and Nentawe Yilwatda as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, officially ending the tenure of suspended Betta Edu.

Remember President Bola Tinubu’s long awaited cabinets change began on yesterday October 23, with the sacking of five ministers and the nomination of seven new ones for Senate confirmation.

Meanwhile Some Nigerians have reacted differently to the development. Igbo Radio Community USA saw from Nigerians a few reactions from X previously known as Twitter.

@DINO_00

Tinubu is making James St Patrick moves. Let me elaborate. You know when Ghost gets to know the intentions of his close enemies, he appoints them a position to where if anything happens to him, it’ll be the appointed close enemy that would be the first suspect

” @deluxe-k

Bianca Ojukwu’s appointment as a junior minister was a calculated political move, not made in good faith. The aim is to weaken Peter Obi’s influence in the South-East, particularly after the backlash he faced from the Igbos over his recent felicitations with Gowon. To the Ibos, this appointment should be seen as a ‘Greek gift’, not offered in good faith. The strategy appears to involve using Bianca first in the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial elections (though it’s unclear in what capacity) and later in the 2027 presidential race. Peter Obi remains the primary target”

@phabzy24

“Leave politics for Tinubu. He calmed the protest, now this. Small time you won’t hear sit at home again in the East.

@Eminience victor “

Bianca, often hailed as the Bride of the South East and the Queen Mother of APGA—the region’s only indigenous political party—carries immense influence. Her appointment may create divisions in Peter Obi’s stronghold in the Southeast, shifting the political landscape in Tinubu’s

@Aguchukwum60878

If you like let him appoint the whole entire ojukwu family we are not voting apc in southeast, we are not like other tribes because no Igbo person we stand up In pulling unit and vote useless and wicked party!

@Henrychiboyy

No smoke without fire, this is for a cover up, onyinye tinubu bu weta isi bia were isi,in all congratulations

Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda was appointed as the new Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, replacing Betta Edu.

Yilwatda replaced Betta Edu, who was suspended in January 2024, over allegations involving a questionable transfer of N585.2 million into a civil servant’s private account. Edu’s replacement was announced on Wednesday as President Bola Tinubu reshuffled his cabinet and restructured some ministries.
