The Nigerian Police in Anambra State has arrested Friday Emenike a 42-year-old man who is also known as Ekpo ‘M’ 42 who allegedly rent guns and other weapons to criminals for their operations, especially within Awka and its environs.

The Alleged Robber Emenike is from Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. So, the police force arrested another two of his customers in Awka.

It will be recalled that on 7th December 2024, Police Operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Squad Enugwu-Ukwu acting on credible information raided an identified black spot in Umunaga Village, Awka South Local government area and arrested two suspected armed robbers namely: Okechukwu Chinwuko, male aged 27 years from Umunaga Village and Ezenwa Chinedu, 22 years from Umuneri Village.

The police recovered from them one Pump action gun, three live cartridges, Cutlass, Criminal Charms, and substances suspected to be hard drugs.

According to a statement by thr Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, a Superintendent of Police, the Operatives also rescued two female victims who the suspects have allegedly forcibly abused sexually.

On interrogation accordingto Ikenga, the suspects confessed that they rent guns/weapons from one Ekpo.

This prompted the Police Operatives to act swiftly and arrested Ekpo.

The Case will be charged to Court on the conclusion of the investigations, Ikenga concluded.
