Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu has made his stance known on the same faith ticket of the ruling All Progressive Congress ahead of 2023 presidential candidate.

Akeredolu who featured on the Wednesday edition of Channels TV Politics Today spoke extensively on the myriad of burning issues in the country and made it known that Muslim Muslim ticket is the least problem the country is facing today.

He was asked by Seun Okinbaloye to react to the decision of his party presidential Flagbearer in picking Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno State as running mate despite condemnation and opposition that greeted the moves within the Christian community.

The Governor while responding said he has made his position known several times on the issue of mixing religion with politics. According to Akeredolu, he is not bothered about whoever Tinubu picks as his running mate or whoever eventually emerges as president in 2023.

All that matter to him is that once the president is from the Southern region, it is okay by him. He said he doesn’t mind if it is Peter Obi that wins the 2023 general election.

Akeredolu explained that what is on ground presently is a serious matter that is beyond the issue of religion. When problem happens, nobody differentiate between Christians and Muslims.

He noted that the Bandits who are killing people across the country do not select whom they kill whether they are Christians or Muslims. They kill randomly.

For him, what Nigerians should bother themselves about right now is the competence and track records of whoever is coming to take over from president Muhammadu Buhari in 2023. It should not be about the religion such a person is practicing.
