The nollywood assertion, “God’s of our land” is one of the greatest lies ever told by them and to ourselves. Alusi falls under the authority of Chi’Ukwu+Okike+Abiama. Alusi aburo Chukwu umu-Igbo but the enforcer of all things good and right. It’s function include the preservation of communal norms values and ethics.
Alusi in Igbo Cosmology means Alu-Kwusi (Let abomination stop). At this level, it functions as the judicial system, hence presiding on conflicts and administrating justice.
The institution of these deities wasn’t born out of the need for the search of God (we obviously knew God) names like Chimbuike m etc are evidence to these assertions. Rather the need to agree on a phenomenon and consecrate it, to function as mandated by its adherents.
