Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo is set to transform 22 secondary schools into smart schools, with many more to follow in the New Year to set a new standard of contemporary schools. As part of efforts at revamping the education sector.

The schools will be spread across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, and through the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) programme with the approval of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC).

The State Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor,  Said….

“The government has equipped 60 secondary school laboratories with the required Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) equipment.  

“It has also increased the operational budgets for primary and secondary schools to ensure they can deliver the quality education promised, among other initiatives.

“By 2025, we plan to make significant investments in education so that our students and teachers will smile like never before. 

“We will also continue to support mission schools, especially the “returned mission schools.” 

“Our subsidies to mission schools help to reduce the cost of primary and secondary education to parents in Anambra State.,” Governor Soludo.

This was demonstrated at the launch of the One Million Digital Tribe at the grand ceremony of the recent Anambra Innovation Week 2024 which is intended to open opportunities for the young citizens of the state to succeed in their professional and business enterprises.

The initiative shows the governor’s recognition that human capital is the state’s most valuable asset, and Soludo is ardent about leveraging this strength to accelerate its economic growth.
